By the end of the study, the learner should be able to: i) Use appropriate register and format for a variety of writing tasks. ii) Demonstrate awareness that spelling in English may not be related to pronunciation. iii) Pronounce correctly sounds they find problematic. iv) Communicate correctly, confidently and appropriately in different contexts. v) Respond correctly to oral information on a variety of subjects. vi) Demonstrate acceptable communication skills. vii) Use non-verbal devices effectively in speech. viii) Use correct stress and intonation to bring out rhythm and meaning. ix) Demonstrate the ability to use correct register in different contexts. x) Use stress to distinguish grammatical meanings in words. xi) Maintain acceptable communication skills.
