This book has been written to assist students preparing for the Certificate of Secondary Education Biology Examination. It covers all the topics in the syllabus. Each chapter covers the main theoretical concepts in form of short and comprehensive notes. End of topic revision questions are included at the end of each chapter. These will guide the student to carry out his or her study in a focused manner. The authors believe that revision is a continuous process throu ghout the course and should not be rele c ated to the last few months Wore the final examinations. The book is therefore written with this in mind and hence can be used by all secondary school students. Model answers are provided in order to acquaint students with the skills necessary in interpreting and answering examination questions. The Biology examination consists of two theory papers, namely Paper 1 and Paper 2 Paper 1 comprises 30 short answer questions that run throu-h the syllabus. Paper 2 is made up of Sections A and B. Section A consists of five questions that are compulsory which require more detailed answers than those of Paper 1. Section B consists of one compulsory data-based question and two essay questions. In addition the book has a few model practical papers with answers whose inclusion will assist candidates to prepare for practical questions.
